We’re just back from two huge days at Xerocon Auckland. Around 1000 accounting industry professionals descended on Auckland’s newest waterfront venue for the biggest accounting technology event in New Zealand.
For Deputy, Xerocon is always a great event to meet potential new customers, network with industry peers and Add-on partners, and hear Xero’s insights about the future of cloud accounting technology.
This year Xerocon also provided the perfect stage to showcase our brand new app for Apple Watch to a highly engaged audience. And we got to give the Apple Watch activity tracker a workout, recording over 12 hours of standing each day.
With so much buzz at our stand, it was difficult to attend many of the sessions. However, I consider myself lucky to have had caught Graham Lowe’s truly inspirational session. Graham is of course a New Zealand rugby league icon and his talk paralleled between business and sport, highlighting the many lessons the corporate world can learn from top sporting endeavour. His authenticity was refreshing and his 12 Dynamic Principles are certainly something I’m going to keep top of mind.
With over 20 Xero Add-on partners in attendance, it was great to catch up with friends such as @spotlightrep @vendhq @Sharesight @ReceiptBank @CrunchBoards and many more. Startup alley had some great new introductions as well such as @exsalerate and @posboss which are well worth checking out.
As ever, the awards night was great fun and we were really delighted to see our friends at Spotlight Reporting take out the Add-On Partner of the Year award. Truly great recognition for an awesome product.
So, it’s with weary feet that we’ve headed home and have jumped head first into planning for our next Xerocon in Denver, In the meantime you can catch our team in San Jose for Suite World from 4th – 7th May, in London for Accountex on the 14th and 13th and in Chicago from the 16th – 19th of May for the NRA show.
