The Deputy.com platform just got faster as we have deployed the Amazon Web Services new edge network, recently opened in Sydney.

Our customers will experience even better performance for features such as tasking, loading employee profiles, and opening the work scheduling application.

In response to demand from cloud providers, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has established a CloudFront location in Sydney, and Deputy has signed up for it immediately.

This move is part of our innovation mantra to give our customers the best and lowest cost cloud computing services.

The AWS Cloudfront network is a web service for content delivery. It integrates with the rest of the AWS cloud platform to give providers such as Deputy an easy way to distribute content at high speed.

The static content that our customers need, and some of our other features, will simply happen much faster, dropping average speeds from 200 milliseconds to 40 milliseconds or lower. Static content includes employee profile data and images.

Some customers have already noticed that the Deputy.com platform has gone up a few gears.

The speed to which the user gets to the rostering or scheduling application is a lot faster… It gives you a much better experience and that’s what Amazon opening in Australia has done for us.

“The speed to which the user gets to the rostering or scheduling application is a lot faster,” said Deputy CTO Ashik Ahmed. “It gives you a much better experience and that’s what Amazon opening in Australia has done for us.”

Deputy already deploys all the advanced database, storage, and dynamic content serving features from the AWS cloud infrastructure located in the West Coast of the US. By shifting our customer’s static applications to the AWS Sydney edge network, our content delivery network is more efficient.

So, if you are in a rush to open your work roster, we are confident that the pace of the Deputy application suite will be impressive.

It also means our software development team can provision new applications quickly, and at low cost. Our internal motto is that if it’s not cloud, it’s not allowed.

Other companies around the world that use the AWS edge technology include IBM, Virgin Atlantic, and Sega. Those companies have all demonstrated outstanding innovation. We are proud to be in the same cluster of advanced technology users.

Most importantly, we hope you enjoy your faster Deputy experience.
