You asked. We delivered. Again.

It’s been a busy few months at Deputy. We’ve launched new schedule printing and I can’t wait to show you what else we’ve got planned for later this year. You could say we’re on a roll. But today, I’m excited to introduce to you a new way to pay your staff.

Pay by Area

With today’s diverse workforce varying from all ages, backgrounds and skillsets, we know hiring superstars with a variety of skills is not just beneficial, but also essential. These superstars like to take on more responsibilities and higher duties whenever they can. They’ve proved they can get the job done, no matter what the job is.

Now you need a way to reward these superstars, right?

Yes, of course you do, and you can now with Deputy. Using our new pay by area feature, you can pay your staff according to what area of your business they work in.

For example, say Travis works in both the bar and the kitchen. For working in the bar you pay him $20 per hour and for working in the kitchen, $25 per hour. That’s a win for Travis, the multi skilled bartender!

Maggie, another superstar at your restaurant, waits tables from Tuesday to Friday but supervises the team on Saturdays. You reward her by paying her $22 per hour for waiting tables and $30 per hour for supervising the team and taking on more responsibility. That’s not only a win for Maggie, but that’s a huge win for you too!

How can I get started?

Easy. Simply select the new ‘Pay by Area’ option in the pay rates section when editing your employee’s profile.

To add a new area, hit the ‘+’ button, select the additional area, and enter the hourly rate.

Over to you

By introducing our new pay by area feature, we hope it makes your life easier. Give it a test run and reward your superstars today! We’d love to hear any feedback on this from you, our loyal customers.

Stay tuned for more!
